Updated: 2026-10-28 · Apostille Convention member
AttestGulf is an independent guidance service. It is not a government agency and does not perform attestation itself.
Standard route
MEA Apostille (Hague route)
Bahrain is a party to the Apostille Convention and Bahrain MOFA lists an Apostille service. Some employers and ministries still ask for MOFA Bahrain legalisation; confirm with your sponsor.
Other valid routes: Bahrain Embassy legalisation + MOFA Bahrain (traditional route)
Two valid routes exist. Confirm with your sponsor whether Apostille alone is accepted.

FAQ

- Do I need the original document?
- Yes for the India-side steps: MEA does not legalise photocopies, and state authentication and embassy steps are done on the original. Laminated documents may be rejected.
- Can I apply directly at MEA?
- No. MEA accepts documents only through its outsourced service providers (BLS, Superb, IVS, Alhind) at collection centres in 16 cities. Normal attestation is free; Apostille is Rs 50 per sticker; the agency charges Rs 84 per document plus Rs 3 per page.
